14 Sep, 2010

The newly-appointed president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Lahore, Samina Khalid Ghurki on Monday said improvement in co-ordination between party organisation and workers would be her top priority. She, however, termed it a gruesome challenge for herself as President PPP Lahore, adding that the former party set up in Lahore was lacking co-ordination in general.
Samina Ghurki said she would try her level-best to meet expectations of party leadership and her sole objective would be to strengthen party presence in Lahore city with the help of young party workers. She said vision of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto would guide her in the new party position. She said that she would first hold party meeting to consider any change in the cadre. She thanked the workers for extending her grand reception on her visit to the city.
She made it clear that creation of new jobs for party workers would be a Herculean task and would take time, especially when the country is passing through the most devastating floods of its history. Earlier, PPP workers gave Samina Ghurki a splendid welcome on her arrival to Lahore as President PPP Lahore. Samina Ghurki is also federal minister for social welfare and special education.
