India has been awarded the next three squash World Cups with Chennai as the venue for the team event that will take place for the first time since 1999. Sixteen teams will compete in next year's tournament starting on March 8 with $125,000 prize money on offer, the World Squash Federation (WSF) said in a statement. Chennai will also host the 2013 and 2015 chapters of the event featuring teams comprising two men and one woman.
Officials from the Squash Racquets Federation of India (SRFI) officials were not immediately available for comment but consultant coach S Maniam hailed the announcement. The Netherlands hosted the last competition in 1999 after which the tournament was discontinued.
