Saqib Masood elected ICAP council chairman

The council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) on Thursday elected Saqib Masood as its new president for the term 2010-11. The council also elected Zahid Iqbal Bhatti Vice President, South and Hat Mohammad Yousaf Vice President, North. Saqib Masood, a fellow member of ICAP, has 25 years of experience in the field of auditing and practising in tax laws.
This is the second time that he has been elected as council member. He has also served as president of Income Tax Bar Association and Vice President South, Chairman Examination Committee, Taxation Committee, Technical Advisory Committee and Financial Sector Committee of the institute.
He has also served as member Executive Committee, Professional Standards and Technical Advisory Committee, Joint Committee of ICAP and FBR, Joint Committee of ICAP and SOP, Committee for Quality Control on Tax Audit and a number of task forces. Presently, he is partner and head of taxation services of KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co, Chartered Accountants (CA) and head of tax KPMG Middle East and South Asia Region (MESA).
Zahid Iqbal Bhatti, who has been elected as Vice President South, is a fellow member of the institute and associate member of ICAP in England and Wales and Management Association of Pakistan. He has served the institute for many years. He served as member of Southern Regional Committee (SRC) for two consecutive terms 2001-05 and 2005-09 while served as chairman for years 2003-4 and 2007-8. He is currently representing ICAP as technical advisor to a member of board of International Federation of Accountants and is also the institute's representative to Asian-Oceania Standards Setters Group.
Vice President, North, Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf is a fellow member of ICAP. He is also the member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, American Institute of Management Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors - USA, Institute of Management Consultants, USA and Management Association of Pakistan. Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf is representing the institute as a member in the Committee of Accounting and Auditing Standards of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).-PR
