Apple said that a software update to iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices in November will let users wirelessly print photos, documents, or graphics. A test version of the coming iOS 4.2 update released to software developers on September 15 included an AirPrint feature that automatically finds Wi-Fi enabled printers on local networks and connects.
"iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can simply tap to print their documents or photos wirelessly," said Apple senior vice president of world-wide product marketing Philip Schiller. "AirPrint is Apple's powerful new printing architecture that matches the simplicity of iOS - no set up, no configuration, no printer drivers and no software to download."
