Seven die in fresh spate of targeted killings

At least seven people were gunned down by some armed pillion riders in different parts of the city during a short span of two hours in the city on Sunday. According to police, three activists of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and two workers of Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) were among the victims.
Three activists of SSP were killed and one injured when armed motorcyclists opened gunfire on them near UP Mor, North Nazimabad. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where doctors confirmed death of three of them.
Another worker of MQM was killed by armed youth in Korangi during the late night. He was identified as Dilawar. However, MQM Spokesman was yet to confirm his affiliation with his party till our going to press.
In another incident, a worker of MQM Unit 146 were targeted and killed by pillion riders in Block 16, F. B. Area. Jauharabad police told Business Recorder that the victim was an active worker of MQM. He was identified as Farhan Ghayas. In a separate incident, Tanveer Abbas was gunned down in Golimar area.
