Pakistani teachers, after returning from Pakistani Educational Leadership Institute (PELI) programme held at Plymouth State University USA, have started their work with dedication to promote quality education in the country. The 40-member team comprising 28 females and 12 males selected for the four-week programme have returned with Master Action Plans (MAPs) which they are now preparing to implement in Pakistan.
On arriving here, the educators attended PELI debriefing meeting to review MAPs to ensure that they provide the best possible value to Pakistan's educational system. Shahid Waseem gave a presentation on various facilities provided to US State Alumni by US Embassy. Ejaz Asad Rasul, Secretary Education Gilgit-Baltistan, Shahid Waseem, Co-ordinator Alumni Affairs, Public Affairs Section, US Embassy and Mazhar Qayyum Awan, Director Alumni Affairs, USEFP were also present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention that since 2004, Pakistan's secondary school teachers are taking part in PELI programme and have already travelled to PSU in New Hampshire to participate in a programme sponsored by US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Idara Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) is the local partner in Pakistan responsible for selection and preparation of participants for the programme as well as their follow up support and monitoring.
