US Consul General William Martin on Friday hosted a reception in honour of the consular corps at his residence here. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the consul generals and their government for showing generosity and compassion to the victims of catastrophic floods in Pakistan.
"We have all been moved by the heartbreaking scenes of men, women and children fleeing their homes and struggling to survive. You all have made a big difference to ensure a world-wide response to the ongoing tragedy", he added. He also thanked the diplomats for accepting his invitation and attending the reception. Diplomats from various countries including UK, Saudi Arabia, China, UAE, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, Turkey, France, Germany, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, head of USAID attended the reception.
