Thal declares 60 percent dividend, 20 percent bonus shares

Thal Limited after-tax profit increased to Rs 1,366.290 million in the year ended on June 30, 2010 (FY10) as compared to Rs 654.095 million earned in FY09. The company's earning per share (basic and diluted) increased to Rs 26.71 in the period under review against Rs 12.79 a year back. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on September 25, 2010 recommended final cash dividend for the year at Rs 3.00 per share ie 60 percent.
This is in addition to the interim dividend already paid at Re 1.00 per share ie 20 percent. The board also recommended issuing bonus shares in the proportion of one share for every five shares held ie 20 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's net turnover increased to Rs 11.253 billion in FY10 against Rs 8.262 billion recorded in FY09. The cost of sales increased to Rs 8.800 billion against Rs 6.835 billion. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 2,028.875 million in FY10 against Rs 988.680 million in FY09.
