Qaim orders reconstruction of infrastructure

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the provincial ministers and secretaries of concerned departments to gear up efforts for reconstruction of infrastructure of the province. Presiding over a meeting here on Saturday at the CM House, he linked the revival of economic activity to building of communication network like roads on priority basis as it has faced massive devastation in the floods.
The meeting reviewed in detail all measures to accelerate the revival of production activity in the flood-hit areas. The CM observed that the recent floods made thousands of people in the province homeless and destroyed roads, bridges, communication system of all types and educational institutions like primary and secondary schools.
He directed the officials to complete the reconstruction work as soon as possible as President Asif Ali Zardari wants to see revival of economic activity in the province. Syed Qaim Ali Shah stressed the need to restore basic infrastructure and functioning of the departments including irrigation, agriculture, revenue and other departments. He also ordered revival of the agricultural activity in the province and cultivation of the Rabi crop. On the occasion, he was given a briefing by secretaries and additional secretaries of the all departments to restore economic activities in the flood affected areas.
Provincial ministers including Irrigation Minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo, Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Ghulam Ali Pasha, Additional Chief Secretary P&D, Mohammed Ishaq Lashari and others attended the meeting.
