Nawaz expresses concern over Pakistan territory violation by Nato

Outgoing US Ambassador Anne W Patterson paid a farewell visit to Nawaz Sharif at his Raiwind residence on Saturday and discussed matters of mutual interest and flood relief and rehabilitation activities. Regional situation, Pak-US relations and matters pertaining to war against terrorism also came under discussion, sources said.
Anne reiterated that the US would continue to play its role for the rehabilitation of the flood-affected people. She also appreciated the steps taken by Punjab government for relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees. US Consul General at Lahore Ms Carmela Conroy was also present on the occasion.
Sources said that Nawaz told the US ambassador that the Punjab government had taken immediate steps for evacuation and provision of relief to the flood affectees. He said the Punjab government was implementing a comprehensive programme for the rehabilitation of flood affectees. He said that modern villages are being constructed in devastated areas. He also thanked the American Ambassador for the relief assistance provided for the flood affectees and said that the heaviest floods in the country's history had caused large-scale devastation.
