Microsoft on October 02 named Kurt DelBene, a veteran executive at the US software firm, to head its key Office division, replacing Stephen Elop, who left last month to run Finnish phone giant Nokia. Besides naming DelBene president of the Microsoft Office Division, the Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft announced two other internal promotions.
Andy Lees, 45, was named president of Microsoft's Mobile Communications Business and Don Mattrick, 46, was tapped to head the company's Interactive Entertainment Business, which includes the Xbox 360 videogame console.
DelBene, 50, has been with Microsoft for 18 years and most recently led the engineering and development teams for the Microsoft Business Division, which developed Office 2010, the latest version of the productivity suite.
