The Karachi Urban Transport Corporation (KUTC) and Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for arrangement of electricity to Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project. The managements of KUTC and KESC have completed the necessary paperwork to start required electricity supply to the circular railway project, sources told Business Recorder.
Though the KCR project is facing delay for different reasons, the management of the project, however, has been trying to provide utility services to the project offices. Under the proposed MoU, KESC would supply electricity to KCR installations, offices, stores and workshop. Besides, KUTC is also trying to arrange power supply to the defined areas where thousands of the project-affected people would be resettled. According to sources, the MoU between KESC and KUTC is likely to be signed on Wednesday.
