RCPE holds tele-conference for overseas fellows

A tele-conference was organised by the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE) for overseas regional advisors, fellows and their colleagues. Khyber Medical College (KMC) actively participated in the telecom conference. The President of RCPE Professor Dr Neil Dewhorst and office bearers of the RCPE provided overview of RCPE, medium term strategies, education and training, fellowship issues, MRCP UK and specialist exam.
Regional advisors Professor Dr Sultan Mahmood, Principal Khyber Medical College and Professor Hasnain Ali Shah, Professor of Medicine, Agha Khan University took part in the discussion and stressed the need for access of the faculty and students of Khyber Medical College and other institutions in Pakistan to the academic and educational programme and activities at Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE).
For this purpose frequent tele-conferences and video conferences shall be organised. Also the need for utilisation of the online educational and academic resources of the RCPE was highlighted. The President RCPE asked the opinion of overseas advisors on meetings with the office bearers of the college in the regional countries. The Regional Advisors from Pakistan agreed with the idea and suggested countries like Dubai and Saudi Arabia. They stressed the need for more frequent academic interactions between the fellows and their colleagues in the region and the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE). The telecom conference was first of its kind in which KMC was invited to participate. The conference ended with vote of thanks to the organisers and participants.
