The US dollar slid to a 15-year low below 82 against the Japanese yen on Friday after a report showed an unexpected drop in US payrolls in September. The report bolstered the expectation for further asset purchases from the US Federal Reserve and the reaction against the yen was immediate, with the dollar falling to a low of 81.72 yen on electronic trading platform EBS.
The dollar was last at 81.82 yen on electronic trading platform EBS, down 0.6 percent on the day. The euro was last little changed against the dollar at $1.3930 on EBS.
