A historic manuscript of Holy Quran was displayed in an exhibition at Research Library of the Institute of Sindhology University of Sindh. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr Nazir A. Mughal inaugurated the exhibition, which was attended by Deans of the various Faculties, heads of teaching institutes and departments, officers and students.
The historic manuscript of Holy Quran to Institute of Sindhology was gifted by Professor Dr Abdul Ahad Abro former Vice Chancellor of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) currently working as Advisor to Sindh University Vice Chancellor. Dr Abro informed that the manuscript of Holy Quran was gifted to his father Pir Muhammad Abro in Madina in year 1935 when he had been reciting holy Quran there.
The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated a modern system of lighting at the Museum and Galleries of the Institute of Sindhology, which would benefits during load shedding of electricity. The Director of the Institute of Sindhology Muhammad Qasim Maka informed the Vice Chancellor that due to regular load shedding visitors always face difficulty when they visits the Museum or galleries and they waits hours for electricity during load shedding.
He further informed that with a very low amount of Rs 24000/- the entire modern electricity system has been set-up. The Vice Chancellor also inaugurated water fountain set up by the Sindhology in front of its beautiful building. The Director of the Institute, while briefing the Vice Chancellor informed that Sindhology has established Benazir Bhutto Corner and gathered all books written on and by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, as well as magazines and newspapers.
He said that work on establishment of Qamar Shahbaz and Hussain Shah Rashdi Corners is under completion. The Vice Chancellor visited the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Gallery, Sindhology Museum, Galleries of prominent personalities and Dr N. A. Baloch Corner. He appreciated efforts of Director and workers of the Institute and hoped that they will continue to serve the art, culture and history of Sindh.
