Remaining 29 officers promoted to Grade 22

The government on Monday approved promotion of remaining 29 officers, including Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, who were from among 54 officers whose promotions were nullified by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on April 27, 2010. In the first phase, the selection board had promoted 25 officers to BPS-22 in its meeting on September 16.
According to Establishment Division notifications of total promotions, eight officers belonged to Customs and Excise Group, Foreign Service and Police service. Other 21 officers were recommended for promotions to serve Secretariat group. Joint Secretary, Establishment Division, Khalid Gillani said, "Following the recommendations of the Selection Board, the Prime Minister has approved promotions of these 29 officers to PBS-22".
All promotions were approved in selection board meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday. Khalid said that the selection board noted that all eligible grade-21 regular officers of the Secretariat Group had been considered and stood promoted to next grade, "and no other officer of that Group is now eligible for promotion at this stage".
The officers promoted to grade 22 are Masood Khalid from foreign services, Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Ramzan from customs and excise group, Fiaz Ahmed Khan, Javed Iqbal, Dr Waseem Kausar, Tariq Saleem and Javed Noor from police service, Anwar Ahmed Khan, Ghulam Ali Shah, Ahmed Bakhsh Lehri, Mrs Nargis Sethi, Amjad Ali Khan, Mohammad Ejaz Chaudhry, Major Khawaja M Naeem (Retd), Agha Sarwar Raza Qazilbash, Javed Mahmood, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, Muhammad Arif Azim, Kazi Afaq Hussain, Ahmed Mahmood Zahid, Mrs Batool Iqbal Qureshi, Abdul Wajid Rana, Captain Ghulam Dastgir Akhtar (Retd), Sohail Ahmed, Mohammad Sami Saeed, Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, Attaullah Khan and Javed Aslam are in secretariat services.
