Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) has withdrawn textile industry's exemption from load shedding, pushing it to face four-hour loadshedding everyday. Central Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) Ejaz Gohar has termed it a sheer negation of the Prime Minister-led Energy Summit's decision and feared that the textile industry would have to face heavy losses.
It may be mentioned here that the government had directed Pepco to exempt textile industry from loadshedding in the energy summit held few months back. The chairman Aptma said the Pepco-fed textile mills would be badly affected because of its decision as they were already facing financial constraints. He urged the government to take notice of the situation and save the textile industry from incurring further losses.
