Gandhara Steam Safari train to help boost tourism: Bilour

Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has said that Gandhara Steam Safari tourists' train would help boost the recreational activities and promote tourism. Talking to APP on Monday, the minister said that train will not only attract the national and foreign tourists but also increase the income of railways, he added.
The minister also stressed on Railway employees who are earning their livelihood for their children, to be sincere and honest with the organisation. Commenting on the deficit faced by the railways, he said there were reasons behind it as the locomotives being used by the railway are old and damaged, adding, "We need new locomotives to generate income". He said, at present, Pakistan railways have 220 locomotives and said, if the government provides 400 locomotives, the railways would be in a position to improve its service and wipe out the deficit.
Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said that Railway was ignored in the past saying that roads were carpeted but no new track was laid to improve its service. It pertinent to mention that, Gandhara Steam Safari tourists' train would facilitate the domestic as well as foreigner travellers.
