Industrialists demand exemption from loadshedding

The industrialists urged the government to exempt export-oriented industry from loadshedding. They said loadshedding is hindering production activities and decision of increasing electricity tariff would increase cost of production and damage the industry.
Pakistani embassies should work for defusing misconceptions about Pakistan in their respective countries because these are creating hurdles in the business activities. European countries have issued travel advisory to their businesspersons to refrain from travelling to Pakistan. The government and foreign office should take immediate steps for clarifying the position of Pakistan. Timely action in this connection has become vital, because the prevailing situation would not only create serious economic problems for the country but also for the business community, they said.
