Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Co said Friday it is recalling 126,774 units of its City and New Fit models in Brazil over a pedal defect. A Honda spokesman said the automaker is recalling the City and New Fit units manufactured in Brazil between May 2008 and October 2010 due to defective accelerator pedals. The vehicles were sold only in Brazil.
As dust particles could enter the accelerator system of those models and stick to its sensor monitoring the pedal's position, the pedal may not come back fully, he said. He said nobody has been injured due to the problem but the company has received one report of an accident.
