Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning and Development, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that 18th October 2007 was the black day in the history of Pakistan, when extremists tried to kill the most popular leader of Pakistan in Karachi. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan People's Party, at his office regarding the 3rd anniversary of Karsaz tragedy.
He said that the attack on Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not attack on a person but, it was the attack on moderate forces, which were struggling for the welfare of the poor and the restoration of democracy. The minister said that now again the extremists are trying to destabilise the political process and democratic institutions by using undemocratic means, but we would never lose our commitment with democracy and with the support of people of Pakistan, we would foil their nefarious designs.
The minister added that the martyrs in the tragedy of Karsaz are the heroes of Pakistan, who gave their blood in the struggle of restoration of democracy in the country. He said that terrorists want to create anarchy in the country and trying to enforce their so-called agenda. He mentioned that such forces are again fighting against the state and moderate forces but we would crush them with iron hands.
