M/s General Satellite Corporation has showed interest to make up to 50 percent investment for modernisation of the home TV technology in Pakistan. The company would like to enter a joint venture with Pakistani channels, a company representative Sergey L. Dolgopolsky said during his visit to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry here.
He was accompanied by Consul General of Russia in Karachi Andrey Demidov, said FPCCI statement on Tuesday. He said he had met different TV channels for introducing the DTH satellite technology in Pakistan. He informed that they are ready to invest 50 percent of total cost of production. He said that this channel would be a real information portal; providing information related to e-commerce, e-education and tele-medicines etc. It would be easily accessible to every body. Pakistan is most appropriate country because there is no DTH satellite channel in Pakistan as compared to our neighbouring country India who has seven such channels.
He requested FPCCI to introduce their company to interested Pakistani businessmen and help them in obtaining a licence. He said that the average cost of these types of project in Russia is around dollars 20 million and in Pakistan the cost may vary according to model and services launched. Acting President FPCCI Muhammad Mansha Chhura and other senior business leaders represented FPCCI in the meeting. Muhammad Mansha Churra briefed them about the activities and functions of FPCCI.
