The future of students of Razmak Cadet College is in doldrums, as college administration has failed to start classes at Peshawar campus on temporary basis even after five months. Tribal militants had kidnapped students of the Razmak Cadet College from the Bakkakhel Frontier Region, Bannu, adjacent to the North Waziristan tribal region in June 2009.
Pakistan Army and FC had recovered all the students and staff of the College. College was closed due to security risk after kidnapping and administration had set up a campus in Peshawar on temporary basis. "But even after five months, college administration has not called students to attend classes in Peshawar campus," one of the fathers of students said adding that now the future of students seems bleak. He said that college administration was using delaying tactics and giving dates for the last five months to start classes, but no practical step has been taken so far.
"When contacted, college administration responded that there are no funds to start classes," adding that the Government of Pukhtunkhwa had not released funds to meet campus expenses and start classes. Aggrieved students have also complained that college administration had neither called them to attend classes nor they had been asked to join any other college.
