On the directions of DCO Naseem Sadiq, the district revenue department has introduced important reforms for the provision of maximum relief to the people under which new computerised system for registration of sale and purchase of properties is being launched soon to avoid any fraud and forgery.
This was disclosed by EDO Revenue Liaqat Ali Chatha during a media conference in his office courtroom. While unfolding the plan, he informed that under the system the photographs of the buyer and purchase alongwith the Sub Registrar would be pasted on the stamp papers through computer software and bio-matrix system would also be attached for thumb impressions of the parties for ensuring genuine bio data and documents.
He said that the system would also been evolved for verification of computerised National Identity Cards from Nadra net work on the spot, which would help in discouraging of impersonation and reducing litigation in this regard. He told that contract had been made with a software company of Lahore for developing the system and training of the staff for implementing the reforms.
Liaqat informed that the revenue department Patwaris had been made bound to sit in their respective areas and their offices had been established in the union council offices to facilitate the applicants for redressal of their problems at their doorsteps. He maintained that a Lumberdary and Chowkidara system in the rural areas was also being activated under the reforms and vacant posts of Lumbardar was being filled to utilise this net work to communicate and implementation of government policies and programmes at gross rout level.
Replying the question, the EDOR said that the concerned officer had been activated for taking action against any complaint of illegal encroachments at state land. He appreciated the role of media in identification of departmental and social problems confronted to the masses and appealed for co-operation for the success of reforms in the local revenue department.
