Bank reports robbery to police after two days: Rs 20 million taken away

Dacoits reportedly took away Rs 20 million from ATM of a private Bank's branch on October 17 by using ATM code, however, the management of the bank reported the robbery to police after two days of the incident on October 19, 2010.
DSP Meethadar police station, Raza Husain, said that the incident of suspicious robbery of Rs 2 million took place at Soneri Bank Branch, situated at I.I. Chundrigarh Road on Sunday night. He said that interestingly, it is one of the unique robberies because robbers took away the amount from ATM by using ATM code, which indicates that any one of bank staff could be involved.
The case falls in the category of cyber crimes and could be handed over to Federal Investigation Agency. Police has registered FIR No 378/2010 against unidentified culprits on complaint of Branch's Manager Masood while further investigation is underway.
