22 Oct, 2010

The meeting of the Standing Committee on Women Development was held in the Ministry of Women Development (MoWD) on Thursday with Bushra Gohar in the chair. The committee also noted that growing concerns of harassment in nursing schools and hostels needed to be investigated and stringent measures should be taken to ensure safety and security of the nurses. The committee recommended the MoWD to support and improve the hostels facilities for working women. MoWD shall constitute a management committee to improve management quality and standard of the hostels. While MoWD have already forwarded the copies of laws and code of conduct to the federal and provincial governments as well as to all stakeholders with request to constitute the inquiry committees under section 3 of the Act and adoption of Code of Conduct contained therein.-PR
