Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) is observing Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Monday to help raise awareness about how early detection can help save the lives of the women.
According to the hospital's spokesman, the event, which would be held at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is expected to be attended by a large number of students from several girls' colleges like Kinnaird College, Lahore College for Women University, Home Economic College, Gulberg, University of Central Punjab, FAST University, LUMS, Comsats University, etc. Beside this, film star Reema Khan, TV actress Faryal Gohar, TV hosts Ayesha Sana and Jugan Kazim and other prominent females from different walks of life will also be participating in the event.
On this occasion, experts will highlight the factors, causes, early detection and treatment of the breast cancer. Pakistan, unfortunately, has the highest incidence of breast cancer in Asia and it is the most common cancer in women around the world.
