Former Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture and a leader of PML-Q Alhaj Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has criticised the certain amendments in the Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010, so that the Punjab government could further delay the local government polls by 360 days.
Talking to newsmen here the other day Bosan said, "We are crying since very first day that present rulers would not revive the local bodies institutions because these do not suit them. He said that there would have been different situation in flood-hit area had the local bodies institutions existed.
Councillors and Nazimeen could help in identification of flood affected victims, distribution of Watan Cards among the destitute. Under the Amendment, the words 'Election Authority' was also replaced with 'Election Commission' and the Election Commission shall notify every election, by-election and result of the election or by-election and resignation, removal or recall of a member, nazim or naib nazim, he added.
