Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants' Association (PCDMA) Chairman Haroon Agar has urged the chief customs collectorate Amir Ahmed Khan to waive demurrage and other charges of the consignment stuck up due to incorrect laboratory report of customs department.
Talking to newsmen he said that clearance of the imported consignment has been blocked by the authorities due to incorrect laboratory test reports, which has resulted in huge demurrage.
He said although the reports were corrected by the laboratory after complaints but the demurrage due to non-clearance of the consignment is still to be waived. He said that it was a fault of the customs laboratory for which the importer should not be penalised.
