Petitioner seeks wife's transfer to his district of residence

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday directed secretary education (schools) to make posting of a lady deputy district education officer Rubina Miraj, strictly under wedlock policy. The petitioner a journalist Majid Hussain, said in his petition that his wife Rubina Miraj had been serving education department for the last 13 years as teacher in Lahore being regular employee of the government of Punjab.
He said presently his wife was serving as deputy district education officer in Nankana Sahib in BS-18 while some seats of the same grades were lying vacant in Lahore. Petitioner's counsel Azhar Siddique pointed out that the said vacancy at Nankana Sahib was meant for male but wife of the petitioner due to political pressure of secretary education had been posted against the said post. Petitioner's wife was the only lady among 123 officers who were posted at male seat, counsel added. Advocate Azhar further said that the petition was heart-patient and needed regular care at home in Lahore city.
