The barley had been sought in a range of shipment possibilities in 50,000-tonne consignments between the first half of March and the second half of April 2018.
Jordan is looking to purchase the same amount with the same shipment periods in another tender, with a deadline for offers on Nov. 28, the government source and trade sources said.
Jordan has struggled to make purchases in a series of grain tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about new quality controls and payment terms had reduced participation by major grain exporting houses.
But some recent tenders have been more successful, with 50,000 tonnes of wheat bought in a tender on Nov. 9 and 50,000 tonnes of barley purchased on Nov. 8.
