ECP conducts hearing of MPs' fake/invalid degrees cases

Members and their representatives explained their positions in the hearing regarding fake/invalid degrees held here on Monday under the Chairmanship of Muhammad Afzal Khan, the Nominated Officer of Election Commission of Pakistan under the direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Representative/Focal Person of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Rahim Bux Channa was also present.
The details are as under: Pitanbar Sewani (PS-Reserved) appeared in person and pleaded that he had changed his name from Washdev alias Pitnabar Sewani to Pitnanbar Sewani by advertising in newspapers and proper Gazette Notification of the Sindh Government in 2000. The Committee informed him the concerned board of his intermediate has declared his certificate as bogus. In response, he presented all his documents and also informed that he had filed a case against the concerned Board. The Committee decided to issue notices to BISE, Hyderabad to appear before the Committee on November 8, 2010 with all the relevant record.
Mehboob Ullah Jan, MNA appeared on behalf of Molvi Obaidullah (PF-61) and requested for adjournment as Molvi Obaidullah had to appear before an Election Tribunal today. Molvi Dildar was also present. The case has now been fixed for November 22, 2010.
A representative, Muhammad Asif appeared on behalf of Mir Ahmedan Khan (NA-265). Next date has been fixed as November 22, 2010 on request of representative. A representative Inamullah appeared on behalf of Sardar Ali (PF-34) and sought adjournment with a request to provide copies of allegations as well. The Committee directed him to produce all documents in his defence and appear on November 8, 2010.
Raja Inam Amir Minhas Advocate appeared on behalf of Haji Nasir Mehmood (PP-111) and requested for supply of copies of the documents. The Committee asked him to produce all his documents in his defence along with power of attorney on the next date of hearing i-e November 8, 2010. Molvi Haji Rozi Uddin (NA-262) had submitted copies of judgement of Courts on the direction of Committee, but the Committee found these judgements as irrelevant to his case. The Committee has, therefore, fixed the next hearing on November 22, 2010.-PR
