Indus Motor concerned at 8-hour power loadshedding

02 Nov, 2010

Indus Motor Company Ltd (IMC) has expressed deep concern over 8-hour daily electricity load shedding, which is causing immense harm to the automobile manufacturing industry.
A spokesperson of Indus Motor Company said in a statement that prolonged load shedding is not only increasing costs, but is also playing havoc with the production cycle and forecasting process, which in turn is increasing pressure on an industry already suffering from multiple challenges.
He said that the auto industry is already crippled by increase in input cost due to the fast diminishing value of rupee against yen and US dollar, rise in cost of raw materials and ever increasing vendor costs. The harsh cycle of load shedding could be disastrous for the industry, he commented. Indus Motor Company appeals to the authorities, to review the schedule of load shedding as it is causing immense loss to the production cycle and is causing delays in vehicle delivery scheduled to the customers.-PR
