07 Nov, 2010

Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell - DEC has recovered some 350 grams white heroin, which was concealed in an interior-décor book. According to a statement issued here, the Customs DEC staff intercepted an outbound international parcel which was booked from Islamabad for an address in Pretoria (South Africa).
A thorough search of the postal article led to the recovery of 350g white heroin, which was skilfully concealed in title pages of an interior-décor book. It may be pointed out here that in recent years Pakistan Customs has observed a trend of heroin smuggling to Far East and African destinations and as such the staff at different exit and export points of the country remains on high alert to deal with any attempts of drug trafficking to these high risk countries. Consequent upon recovery and seizure of heroin, a prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 has been registered against the sender.-PR
