Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) and Radiology Society of Pakistan is going to observe World Radiography Day on Sunday (today). According to the hospital's spokesmen, a special programme, which will focus on the current radiographic issues in the country, would also be part of the day's events.
The session, accredited by the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education (AACME), is expected to be attended by renowned radiologists, physicians, principals and students of radiography from different hospitals and teaching hospitals in the country, he added.
The World Radiography Day is an annual international initiative, which is intended to raise awareness and stimulate an interest in radiography as a profession. This occasion will also provide an opportunity to radiographers and radiology technologists to interact, collaborate and share their views, which will result in better insights into this remarkable field of Radiography. This initiative is further aimed at highlighting the importance of radiography and the indispensable function it plays in the health care environment, he added. Dr Najam ud Din, Dr Zia Farooqui and a team of qualified radiographers from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital will give presentations and talks during the session.
