Pro-KBD rally reaches Multan

Kalabagh dam rally which began from Jampur on November 1st reached Multan here on Saturday afternoon under the leadership of Engr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan chief of Kalabagh Dam Movement, Khurshid Kanju of Pakistan Kisan Board, Syed Imtiaz Ahmed Shah President of Pakistan Engineers Forum.
Hundreds of activists of Jamaat Islami, Kisan Board, People's Seraiki Party warmly received the rally at Chowk Dera Adda. Thousands of farmers, peasants, tenants and member of civil society started a Kalabagh dam rally from Jampur on November 1st under the leadership of Engr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan chief of Kalabagh dam movement. Kisan Board, Jamaat Islami and Al-Khidmat Foundation also joined the rally. A number of gatherings were held in Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Chhutta, Ghazi Ghat, Karam Dad Qureshi, Muzaffargarh, and Shershah.
Addressing the rally Engr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Khurshid Ahmed Kanju, Khawaja Mohsin Riaz, Ramzan Rohari, Allah Yar Korai, Malik Afzal Dhadhla, Malik Fayya-ul-Hassan Bhutta, Ghulam Haider Hambhi, Dr Zahoor Gabol vowed that they would not allow the rulers and Indian agents to make Pakistan a desert like Ethiopia and Somalia and we forced them to construct the Kalabagh dams and other water reservoirs to save the country from starvation and food autarky.
They demanded an engineers conference on this issue of Kalabagh dam because it was a technical issue. It was not a political issue. Participants shouted slogans 'Save Pakistan-construct KB dam' 'Provide cheaper electricity, promote hydal power system.'
