12 persons involved in drug peddling, dacoities arrested

Islamabad Police have arrested 12 persons including a lady smuggler for their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities, drug peddling, dacoities and recovered three kilograms charas, looted money and pistols from their possession. Meanwhile, in separate incidents one person died and another injured in road accidents, while two vehicles and a motorbike were lifted from the capital.
Islamabad Police on Saturday held 12 persons including a lady smuggler from different areas, recovering a pistol, 48 bottles of wine, while in four separate incidents of theft and robbery people were deprived of commodities worth Rs 900,000. According to spokesman of Islamabad Police, the Administrative Officer of a Beverage Company Athar Sohail informed Sihala Police that Zahid working as salesman with the company has told that some unidentified persons have snatched Rs 477,000 from him at gun point.
After this information, police started the formal investigation and came to know that it was not a dacoity incident, but Zahid himself created the whole story. Police also succeeded in recovering the money from the salesman and further investigation is underway.
Sihala Police also arrested three thieves Saifullah, Fazal Sher and Zahid Hussain who allegedly steal chicken worth Rs 100,000 from a poultry farm. Nilore Police chased a car No LHS 7366 and on search 48 bottles of wine were recovered. Two persons namely Muhammad Iqbal and Abdul Majeed were arrested while one person managed to escape. Car was also impound. Margalla Car No LOZ 6186 was stolen from parking area of Paracha Chowk in jurisdiction of Shahzad Town Police, while a Suzuki Van No IDN 7635 was lifted from the parking of SNGPL in the jurisdiction of I-9 Police Station.
Some unknown thieves broke into a house in jurisdiction of Shalimar Police and stole watches, golden ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 869,000. SHO Tarnol, Qasim Niazi along with police team arrested six persons including a woman during the patrolling and recovered three kilogram hashish as well as illegal weapons from them. These apprehended persons were identified as Rukhsana Bibi, Gul Muhammad, Fida Muhammad, Muhammad Nawaz, Irfan and Zaheer Abbss. Further investigation is underway from these nabbed persons and police is hopeful for more information and recovery from them.
