Over 3,800 appear in SSUET Entry Test

As many as 3,850 candidates appeared in the Entry Test held here on Sunday at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) for admission to six engineering disciplines. The entry test was for admission to Biomedical, Electronic, Computer, Civil and Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science against 1,600 seats.
The University had made strict security arrangements, which included deployment of Rangers and Police along with installation of surveillance cameras and walk through electronic gates.
According to University officials the test was held in a peaceful atmosphere and continued from 10 am to 12:00 hours. The successful candidates will now appear in interviews to be held from November 8 to 12 for which various interview committees have been formed. Registrar Shah Mahmood Hussain said that Admission Committee will process the application forms on the basis of applicants' pervious academic record, their performance in the admission test and interview.
He said minimum requirement for admission in Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is to have the certificate of Intermediate in science or equivalent with 60 percent aggregate marks. This year the University received record 4,444 admission forms but after scrutiny only 3,850 candidates were found eligible for entry test. Vice-Chancellor SSUET, Professor Dr Saiyid Nazir Ahmed, is personally monitoring the whole process.-PR
