Plane crash: lack of proper maintenance

09 Nov, 2010

The plane crash near Karachi airport almost immediately after take-off in which 21 lives were lost is tragic. The plane was reported to be on fire, due to an engine malfunction. This occurred less then 3 months after the plane crash at Islamabad from a flight, originating from Karachi. This is brings into question the level of maintenance.
Even though the two plane crashes are 2 separate incidents, the private charter plane's crash soon after the take-off due to engine problems shows the lack of proper maintenance that is required for functioning aircraft. By not maintaining the plane and its various parts, you risk the lives of the passengers and flight crew.
While the private charter companies should ensure compliance with the international safety standards set so as to avoid similar incidents in the future, it is the duty of concerned government agencies to make sure that these companies should follow the safety rules.
