11 Nov, 2010

On the call of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (APUASA), the Academic staff association (ASA) of Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan held a protest meeting on Wednesday for the safe release of abducted Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Peshawar, Dr Ajmal Khan.
The association has also given the Government three-day notice to take measures for the recovery of the Vice Chancellor or else they may decide to take out protest rallies outside the universities and in front of the Parliament as well. Dr Abdul Quddos Suhaib President of ASA said,"It is an alarming fact that HEC and the Government of Pakistan and even VCS have not been doing anything for the safe recovery of Dr Ajmal Khan,".
The representatives of the association said that they would protest against HEC, the Government and even against the VCS of all the universities of Pakistan if they remained silent on this matter. The Academic Staff Association of Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan and Islamia University Bahawalpur displayed banners and called press conference to condemn the kidnapping of Dr Ajmal Khan.
