President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday conferred illustrious and renowned poet late Ahmed Faraz with Hilal e Pakistan (Civil) posthumously for his contributions in the realm of poetry and literature. The President also restored earlier award of "Sitara e Imtiaz" which was already conferred upon late Ahmad Faraz in 1994 but was withdrawn by the previous government in 2006.
The President also advised the CDA to name a road or some other public place after the renowned poet, in an acknowledgement of his great services for the nation.
