Katchi Abadis: SKAA initiates regularisation work

Sindh Katchi Abadi Authority (SKAA) has initiated the regularisation work in various Katchi Abadis in Karachi. On the directives of Provincial Minister Sindh Katchi Abadi Authority (SKAA), Engineer Rafiq, the Director Karachi field office SKAA the regularisation work for 7 Katchi Abadis in Karachi has been going on by the authority.
SKAA Director Karachi Field, Imdad Ali Lashari while talking to Business Recorder on Thursday informed the regularisation work is going on in Chakra Goth, Suiper Colony, including Korangi Town, Pathan Colony of Orangi Town, Bawani Colony and Khuwaja Ajmeer Nagri slums.
Lashari informed the process of giving ownership to homeless people to their houses has been started. There are thousands of homes that are being provided to homeless and poor people including 500 units (houses) in Chakra Goth, 200 units in Suiper Colony, 2,000 units in Khuwja Ajmeer Colony and other areas as well.
The director further said the authority is about to start allotment in connection with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Susti housing scheme for 300 poor and homeless people in Maripur at 12 acre land approved by the minister. In this regard, homeless people will be provided 80 yards land-ownership in 60 instalments. The work on survey and map for Susti housing scheme has been completed, Lashari added.
