Town Municipal Administrations in the city have set up places as collection points for offal and also designated dumping points to bury offal of the sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha besides establishing their emergency centres for public complaints.
Administrator Karachi, Fazlur Rehman has directed town administrations to dug up trenches according to their requirement at the nearest possible location where offal of the sacrificial animals would be dumped according to scientific methods. Officials in different town administrations told Business Recorder that all the measures of sacrificial animals offal lifting and disposal have been completed and the designated officials of the towns would work during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha. Trenches for dumping offal had already been built at the nearest places to avoid offal dropping on roads while taking it to the dumping point. It would also save time which helps us serve people properly, they added.
The designated dumping point of North Nazimabad Town has been set up in Block T Daman-e-Koh, near Qalandaria Chowk, Offal from Shah Faisal Town would be dumped at the back of Azeempora Qabaristan. Offal from SITE Town would be dumped at Garbage Transfer Station near Qasba Colony Stadium, offal from Korangi Town near Power House, UC9. Offal collected from Gulshan Town would be dumped near Esa Nagri, Sir Shah Mohammad Suleman Road, offal from Baldia Town would be dumped near Mach Goth no.12, offal from Orangi Town in designated dumping point in Gulshan Behar, offal from Jamshed Town to be dumped in Malir Naddi near Baloch Colony, offal from Landhi Town in Malir Naddi near Sharafi Goth, UC5, offal from Saddar Town in Malir Naddi near Baloch Colony, offal from Malir Town at dumping point in Khokrapar no.4, dumping point of New Karachi Town set up in Sector 7C, Offal from Gulberg Town would be dumped at dumping point near Dinga Mor, Ghareebabad, Bin Qasim Town dumping point in Shah Lateef Town while Liaquatabad Town, Keemari Town and Liyari Town has dug up trenches at dumping point in Mewashah and Gadap Town has three dumping points Malir Naddi, Ayub Goth and dumping point in Sector 11, Sarjani.
More than 25000 workers and more than 4000 vehicles besides 1500 city wardens would take part in Offal lifting and dumping and cleaning operation while two vehicles of the City District Government Karachi for germicide spray would also be working during three days of Eid. Other than Towns, CDGK has also set up emergency Toll Free helpline 1339 where public can register their complaints regarding offal lifting and cleanliness.
