Vice President of Saarc Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), Iftikhar Ali Malik on Tuesday urged the business community to fulfil its corporate social responsibility by extending maximum help to the poor in general and the victims of recent devastating floods in particular.
Businessmen should assist in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of calamity-stricken brethren, whose lives have been devastated by the history's worst disaster, Malik stated this in a message on the occasion of Eid-ul- Azha. "I have personally visited many areas where life has completely shattered by devastation caused by floods, thus we cannot celebrate the day with traditional fanfare when millions of our brothers and sisters have been rendered shelter less," he said.
He urged businessmen not to forget their fellow countrymen affected by the worst natural disaster in the country's history. Millions of our fellow countrymen are homeless and facing severe difficulties," he said. Reconstruction of devastated towns, destroyed houses and rehabilitation of flood-affected people are our foremost priority and national obligation, he stressed.
