Rescue 1122 finalises Eid-ul-Azha emergency plan

The Rescue 1122 has finalised the Eidul Azha Emergency Plan for carrying out rescue activities in case of any untoward incident on the occasion of Eidul Azha. This was informed during a meeting of District Emergency Board held here under the chairmanship of DCO Naseem Sadiq.
The meeting was informed that 12 fully equipped ambulances with paramedic staff, 10 fully equipped fire vehicles with trained fire rescuers, two rescue vehicles, two water bowzers, two arial platform with specialised vehicle operators and two recovery vehicles would be ready for rescue services.
Moreover, 25 mobile rescue posts, 2 special rescue groups containing 36 specially trained rescuers have also been arranged, besides providing emergency cover at sensitive Eid congregations and important public places. The DCO directed other departments concerned to get ready regarding performing their responsibilities during Eid days and co-ordinated strategy should be adopted in case of any emergency so that rescue operations should carried out smoothly for ensuring least possible loss in any untoward incident.
He said that comprehensive District Emergency Plan would devise after associating the emergency plans of different agencies and departments in the district, so that, joint efforts should be ensured in rescue measures in case of any emergency.
He directed the concerned departments to nominate focal persons of their departments, which could be contacted for mobilising their departmental activities after any possible incident. He informed that a District Control Room has also been set up in DCO office for keeping liaison with the law enforcement agencies and different departments.
District Emergency Officer Mian Riffat Zia also briefed the meeting regarding the performance of rescue 1122 during the 3rd quarter of current year. He said that basic life support and fire fighting training had been imparted with the 266 employees of different factories and industrial units and apprised them of the techniques and skills of rescue operations.
