Flood tax: Sindh Assembly to pass resolution within days: chief minister

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that a resolution regarding the flood tax would be passed by the Sindh Assembly within days. Talking to mediamen at CM Camp office Khairpur on second day of Eid-ul-Azha, he said that flood tax was not being imposed on poor people and it was being imposed only on the rich, who could easily pay this one-time tax.
The CM said that the tax would be charged from those who have minimum 500 yards of residential plot and growers of cotton, sugarcane whose lands were not inundated by floodwaters. He said the coalition partners would support the tax, which would be passed through a resolution from the Sindh Assembly. To a question, he said Watan Cards will be issued to the all flood victims and in this regard, he had issued directives to the Nadra.
