Al Qaeda backed LJ behind terror attacks: Malik

Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, has said that al Qaeda-backed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is involved in the blasts in Karachi and elsewhere in the country. Talking to media on arrival at Jinnah International Terminal on Sunday, he said Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is also supporting the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
To a question about the involvement of any foreign hand in recent terrorist activities in the country, he said government would not blame any other country as the forces within the country are involved in terrorist activities. "We are determined to curb lawlessness," he remarked.
Referring to the recent blast at the CID centre in Karachi, the minister said that it is not yet clear about the nature of the explosives used in the bomb blast.
About the campaign launched against corruption in government departments, he said PPP and its allied party MQM are fully aware of the problems of the people and united on one platform to fight end corruption from government departments.
