Japan to cooperate with Pakistan in agriculture sector

Japan has agreed to cooperate with Pakistan in agriculture sector particularly to extend help in agriculture farms, processing of milk, improve quality of fruits, transfer of modern technology and training of farmers aimed at bringing about improvement in the region and prosperity among farmers.
Senior Vice President of Agriculture Department, Yasuheiro Nakagawa said, that wheat and gram is cultivated in Barani areas during winter season while in summer, peanuts, corn, pulses and vegetables are cultivated. Punjab government provides free of cost seeds and fertilisers for exhibitory plots while it is taking steps to provide tractors and bulldozers on subsidised rates, and loans on easy instalments for increasing the production of meat and milk, he added.
Leader of Japanese delegation said that Pakistan was at number four in milk production, but its processing is not being carried out on modern lines, adding, funds are required for the purpose. Japan would provide financial as well as technical assistance to boost up agricultural production. The head of the delegation said that Japan is interested in protection of food and big agriculture forms in this region.
