Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme: Over 18.4 million public sector companies' shares distributed to employees

The government has distributed over 18.4 million shares of public sector companies in their respective employees under the Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme (BESOS). Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim stated this while speaking at the ceremony of share distribution of Pak Reinsurance Company here on Monday.
He gave share certificates to the 228 employees of Pak Reinsurance Company. He pointed out that it was the idea of PPP founder chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to give partnership to the employees of the public sector companies. The present government decided to give 12 percent share of public sector companies to their employees.
The minister said that it was a great decision of the present government as thousand of the employees of the public sector companies have now become shareholders of their companies. He said that the government is committed to provide more benefits to the working class of the country. He assured the employees of Pak Reinsurance Company for resolution of their remaining issues including increase in salaries and others. "Now you are partners of their company and you should work hard for the growth of your company's business," he asked the employees.
The chairperson of Pak Reinsurance Company Rukhsana Salim was also present on this occasion while a large number of company employees attended this event. The president PRC Officers Welfare Association Ayaz Hussian Gaad and president PRC Employees Union (CBA) Ahmed Hussain Qadri also spoke on this occasion and highlighted the performance of the company.
