'Pakistan wants joint defence, energy projects with Tajikistan'

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said Pakistan attaches high importance to its bilateral ties with Tajikistan and wants to expand co-operation in defence, intelligence sharing, energy and power sectors.
Talking to Ambassador of Tajikistan Dr Zubaydullo N. Zubaydov at the PM House, the Prime Minister said he was keenly looking forward to his meetings with the Tajik President and the Prime Minister to discuss the whole gamut of bilateral relations during his forthcoming visit to Dushanbe to attend the SCO Heads of Government Summit.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of Pakistan attaches to the implementation of trilateral Transit Trade Agreement with Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and called for connectivity between the two fraternal countries through construction of road link between Chitral via Wakhan strip to Tajikistan to promote trade and economic ties.
